Update Display/Network Adapter Driver
The outdated display driver or network adapter can always produce issues on the computer. So first, update the proper network drivers to avoid the freezing issue. To update the driver go through the following steps-
Step 1: Click on the Start Menu and type in ‘Device Manager’. Click on the Device Manager and it will open a new window. Find out Network Adapters and click on it to expand the section.
Step 2: Locate the Broadcom network adapter under this section and right-click on it and select Properties. Click on ‘Browse my computer for driver software’ and then click on the ‘Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer’.
Step 3: You can see two different types of browsers for your network adapter. Click on the Microsoft to select it and then click on Next to start the installation of Microsoft variant. You should wait for a few minutes to finish the installation process.
Step 4: Once the driver has been installed, you can Exit it and Restart your computer.

Turn Off Unwanted Apps
Click on the Start or press the Windows key and choose Settings. Right after that, you will need to select ‘Privacy’ and find the Backgrounds Apps at the bottom. Click on it and disable the apps which you don’t want to use.
Clear ‘temp’ Files
If Windows doesn’t have enough space then it will be unable to store ‘temp’ files. So you have to clear them on regular basis, otherwise, it will slow down or even freeze the system.
Press Windows +R buttons simultaneously to open the Run dialog box. Type in ‘temp’ in the select box and hit Enter. Now you can see all the temp files on your computer. Select them all and remove them.
Increase Virtual Memory
Virtual memory helps extend the physical memory(combination of RAM and a portion of the hard drive) for your computer. When you are performing an intensive task and your computer is run out of RAM then it will take the storage of virtual memory.
Press the Windows along with Pause/Break key and choose Advanced System Settings on the left side.
Now click on the Advanced tab and then click on Settings icon at the right side.
After that, go to the Advanced tab and then click on the ‘change…’ in the virtual memory section.
Make sure that the checkbox of ‘Automatically manage paging file size for all drives’ is not ticked.
Select your Windows Local Drive (C:) from the given list and put an initial size and maximum size for your Virtual memory. The value of Initial size varies and depending on your computer. If you can’t understand what value you should put then just enter the number which is in the Recommended category. The Maximum size should be about 1.5 times of your physical RAM. If your PC has 4 GB (4096 MB) RAM then the Virtual memory should not be more than 6 GB (6144 MB).
After entering the virtual memory values, click ‘Set’ and then click on the OK to continue.
Run Disk Checker
If you can’t resolve your problem still now then you should check your hard disk once, to check whether there is any fault or not. So, close all open program files first and then click on Start> File Explorer and open This PC.
Select the hard drive you would like to check and then right click on it and select Properties.
Go to the Tools and click on Check under the ‘Error checking’ section. After this, you can see the result. If your hard disk drive has an error then you should consider upgrading your disk.
Go To The Disk Clean-up
At your Windows 10, type ‘disk clean up’ in the Cortana search box and choose C Drives.
In the small window click on OK to continue. It will take a few minutes to calculate how much space you can free on your system partition. Under the Disk clean-up section, select all file types to check the amount of disk space you can clean up by click on OK.
Turn-off Link State Power Management
It is a Power saving mechanism and you can disable it by the following steps.
Press Windows + R buttons togetherly to open the Run dialog.
Type in ‘powercfg.cpl’ and then hit Enter.
Click on Change plan settings besides ‘Balanced (recommended)’ option and then choose ‘Change advanced power settings’.
Find the PCI Express category and then expand it to change the setting of ‘Link State Power Management’ to ‘Off’.
