There are various ways by which you can solve this error. But usually, this error code indicates different types of hardware and software problems. That’s why if you don’t know the particular cause of the error you won’t be able to troubleshoot the same.
This is a little bit time consuming but in this case, the solutions are very easy and straightforward therefore it won’t take much time.
Now let’s get into the solutions.
1. An issue with the Digital Signature Certificate
The error 15215 is usually related to the Digital Signature Certificate, therefore, you need to fix it at first. In order to update your Quickbooks, you need to install the proper version of the Certificate.
To start it, go to the Windows search bar and type QBW32.exe. In the result, you will find a shortcut of that file. But if you want to do it manually then you can directly visit its location which is “C:\Program Files\Intuit\QuickBooks”.
Once you locate it, right click on that file. A pop-up menu will appear where you will get the Properties option. Click on it and it will launch the Properties window. On that window, you have to locate the Digital Signature tab and click on it. Now on that tab, you have to check that the Intuit, Inc option is selected or not.
Then, you have to click on the Details option. That click will lead you to another window where you need to hit the View Certificate option. Now on that window, click on the Install Certificate option and then hit the Next button. After that hit, you need to wait for a few minutes until the Windows shows you the Finish. When it does, hit it.

2. Check the Internet Explorer

Check the Date and Time
Before applying any fix you should check the date and time of your Windows system. To do that first launch the Setting apps. Now on the Setting page, click on the Date & Time tab. On that tab, you have to make sure that all the things are correct.
If it is not correct then to fix it first turn off the Set time automatically option. Then change the date and time to its correct configuration and click OK.

3. Check The Firewall
If your internet connection and Internet Explorer is working fine then the next thing you can block is the Windows Firewall. Therefore to remove this error you need to check your Windows Firewall.
To do that first you need to open the Control Panel. To do that you can take help from the WinX menu. To launch it press the “Windows key + X” and then click on the Control Panel option from that menu. On that Control Panel page, click on the System and Security. On that page, you will get the Windows Firewall option. Click on it and enter into that page.
Now on the Windows Firewall page, click on the Advanced settings options. Inside the Advanced settings options, you will get the Inbound Rules. Right click on it and select the New Rule. Then under the Rule type Section option. Check the box beside Port option. After that choose the first set of radio button as TCP and the second one “Specific local ports”. Now, you need to add those port numbers on the box under the Specific local ports option.

4. Install the updates manually
Now there is one more fix or workaround for this error. In this method, you are able to update your QuickBooks but unable to remove the error completely.
To do that, you have to download the latest updates from Intuit’s official website. Once the downloading process is done, double-click on the update installation files to start the installation. After the installation process finished, reboot your system and launch the QuickBooks application. Now on the QuickBooks window press F2.
